Hi Having an issue with recovering my back up image, Its on an external HDD 500GB within the PC, Original HDD has failed 1TB, I upgraded my pc previously from win7 pro to Win10 Pro, all was fi E until one morning the 1TB HDD failed, Purchased a fresh 1TB HDD to re-image but just keeps erroring, saying as stated in the header... system image error. the processor architecture or OS version of windows recovery environment is not the same as that of the computer that was backed up?Not sure what to do as can't look in the image as a. VHD file so not sure if image corrupt, have checked the boot an

Image restore: Error: the processor architecture or OS,....

Upgraded 8.1 toshiba laptop to w10 in june.

Had some troubles with a program and could not start, or repair.

Attempting to restore the image created just before the crap.

Booting from the DVD disk I used to install w10.

Getting this error:

The system image restore failed.

Error details: the processor architecture or OS version of windows recovery,....

This make no sense.

Anybody got any ideas?

by the way , now I was able to boot my system and it says a another reason for system restore failure.
it says
"
The system image restore failed.
Error details: The processor architecture or OS version of Windows Recovery Environment is not the same as that of the computer that was backed up. For example, a backup of an Vista x64-based computer can be recovered only by using an Vista x64-based version of Windows Recovery"
