Windows 10: System Interrupts 100%

I have a brand new (bought 3 weeks ago) Acer Aspire 3 - A314, SSD laptop. On 20/12/2018, Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1803 for x64 Systems (KB4483234) was successfully installed.


This morning, when I switched on, I noticed it took 5 minutes or so to boot up and when it eventually did manage it I found I could not

open any apps or websites. I just saw the small circle of doom. I managed to shut down on the power button and restarted but got the same result. Eventually, I got Task Master to open and noticed that System Interrupts was showing 100%. I noticed the fan did not seem to be running during all of this.


After 4 or so attempts at shutting down and back on it eventually booted up in normal time and now seems to be running ok.


Could someone kindly advise me if this is a software glitch that is unlikely to recur or is it indicative of deeper problems.

Clean install, disk usage at 100%

I've seen that article. and I am in fact not running that driver. I followed the steps and it does not appear in the list.

After updating my graphics driver on my Lenovo computer, it started freezing after 1 to 2 minutes after booting. I was able to find out system interrupts is taking up 100% of the CPU.

A deferred procedure call is an interrupt-handling mechanism in the Windows operating system where the drivers can reference when running certain processes. Deferred procedure call allows a task to be activated but not executed, from a highly prioritized
interrupt request level (IRQL).

As an initial troubleshooting step, I suggest you to put the computer in Safe mode and check if you receive this error.
