Windows 10: System problems including "File system error -214729126"

A couple of days i started experiencing some changes, actually some problems with my windows till the other day, I was trying to view my photos then a message pop up saying that "File system error -214729126". I have tried a couple of ways fixing it but to no avail. I even reset my PC but the problem did not solved. So what should I do next?

From the description provided, I understand that you are encountering the error message when you are trying to access any media file in the CD/DVD Drive of your computer.

This issue may happen due to system file corruption. I suggest you to run System file checker. System File checker (SFC) scan is done to check if there are any corrupted system files that could be causing this issue. Kindly follow
the below given steps:

  Press Windows key + X, select
  Command prompt (Admin) to bring up elevated Command prompt.
  
• 
  In Command prompt type
  sfc/scannow and press enter.
  
• Restart the computer.

If no corrupted system files were found in the previous state, then I suggest you to try the following steps:

• 
  Open command prompt by pressing Windows key + X and selecting “Command prompt admin”.
  
• 
  In command prompt, type the following commands and press Enter after each command:
  
  DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Scanhealth
  
  DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth
  

• 
  Close the command prompt and restart the PC and check if it works.

File System error

• Which build, version and edition of Windows is installed on your device?
• What changes have you made to your computer before this issue occurred?
• What troubleshooting steps have you done so far?

In the meantime, we suggest running the Windows Update and install the available updates on your device. It will be best to perform this when your device is in safe mode. Restart your computer once the updates are successfully installed and then check if
the same issue persists.

Kindly follow the below given methods and check if issue is resolved.

Method 1:

This issue may occur due to some system file corruption.

• Click on User accounts and Family Safety.
• Click on User Account and then click on Manage Accounts.
• Now click on Add a new user and follow the instructions.

Sign-out from the current User account and sign in to new User account and check.
