Windows 10: System Process ntoskrnl.exe keeps spiking causing laptop to lag

Hello everyone,The Problem:The whole computer hangs every few seconds due to what I think is the system process. The laptop I'm using is quite old in terms of technology, but I'm mainly wanting it just to view Youtube and browse the web so nothing that it shouldn't be able to handle. Random lag spikes

We would like to know more about your lag issue:

• What browser are you using when you experience a lag?
• Does the lag occur in a particular game?

In the meantime, we suggest you run the System Maintenance troubleshooter. Here are the steps:

• Press Windows Key + X.
• Click on Control Panel.
• Select Troubleshooting.
• On the left pane, click on View All.
• Click on System Maintenance to run the troubleshooter.

System idle process spike

So, my system idle process keep on spiking from 30 % to 100. How do I fix this? And this is affecting my cpu usage which is causing fps drops in all my games.

 

Lag spike causes lag in a game

So the story is very simple, from time to time I have a huge "lag" in the game and it lasts for like 1 second. This is very annoying. I've done some investigating and it turns out that during the lag, there's a huge spike on a disk usage caused by the same game. Is there any way to avoid the lag? Or is it just a game issue?
