Windows 10: "System" process using too much disk

HelloMy computer was very slow since 2 months now. It had a very slow startup time and disk usage was about 100% all the time.I did a lot of research and didn't find a solution. I found out the system process used majority of it. I got the startup problem solved through the Microsoft Community but the disk usage problem now got worse. My computer is very slow and laggy. Any solution? Thanks in advance

SuperFetch helps in decreasing the boot time which makes the programs load efficiently. But, it can also cause potential disk performance issues.

Try disabling SuperFetch by following the steps below:

• Press Windows key + X.
• Click Command Prompt (Admin).
• Enter the administrator credentials and pres Enter.
  
• In the Command Prompt window, type or copy and paste this command:
  
  net.exe stop superfetch
• Press Enter and wait for the command to be processed.

We also suggest performing a disk check to identify any issues with the disk:

• Press Windows key + X.
• Click Command Prompt (Admin).
• Enter the administrator credentials and pres Enter.
  
• In the Command Prompt window, type or copy and paste this command:
  
  chkdsk E: /f /r
  
  Note: You can replate E: with your appropriate drive letter
• Press Enter and wait for the command to be processed.

The issue that you’ve encountered regarding the disk usage on your computer may be caused by some programs on the system that are running in the background. Some of these programs run when you boot your device. To sort out your concern, we suggest that you
check if the Microsoft Compatibility Telemetry is running on the
Processes tab from the Task Manager to check if the issue is not related to it. This is part of
Microsoft Customer Experience Improvement Program that contains technical data about how the Windows devices and its related software is working, and then periodically sending it to the
Microsoft server. To check it, you may follow the steps below:

• Press Ctrl + Alt + Delete keys on your keyboard and select
  Task Manager.
• Click the More details button > Processes tab.
• Look for Microsoft Compatibility Telemetry on the Name section.

If the program is running, you may disable it from the Task Scheduler. This will reduce the disk usage on your PC to return its status to normal. To do this, you may proceed with these steps:

• Click Start, type Task Scheduler, and then press
  Enter.
• On the Task Scheduler window, go to this path: Task Scheduler Library\Microsoft\Windows\Application Experience.
• On the Application Experience folder, look for Microsoft Compatibility Appraiser.
• Right-click on it and select Disable.
• Once you're done, you may restart your computer and check if the issue persists.
