  1. System recovery does not recover non-Microsoft system components

System recovery does not recover non-Microsoft system components.

For example NVIDIA display drivers are not recovered!

Instead one gets Microsoft display drivers
which provide only to poor basic resolution
    and support only one monitor!

The concept "system" has been re-defined for recoveries!
One has to manually recover systems components not provided by Microsoft!

    :)

  2. Recovering system using Recovery Media Creator with USB

    Hello All,

I created a windows 10 recovery drive using Recovery Media Creator. I set my bios to boot from USB, I restarted my system. I received this error " Non-system did or disk error".

My goal to recover my system using the recovery USB.

    Thank

    John

  3. Windows 10 upgrade to WDF_Violation

    Hi,

Sorry for the delay in replying.

As suggested by MVP “auggy”, you may restore the PC to a previous date when the system was working using the Windows 10 recovery media under the recovery options.

Once you are in the recovery environment, follow these steps:

    • Click the Command Prompt option to open the CMD window.

    • Type “rstrui” and hit enter.

    • Select the desired restore point and proceed with the restore.

Important: System Restore will not revert any of the non-system files like documents, email, music, etc. to a previous state. These types files are completely unaffected by System Restore. If your intention with this tool was
to recover a deleted non-system file, try using a file recovery program instead of System Restore.

Reply with the status of the issue and we will be glad to offer our assistance.

System recovery does not recover non-Microsoft system components

I think you have misunderstood what System Recovery does: it recovers Windows state as it was just after being installed, before any third party content was installed.

Speaking from my own experience, I know that if I clean install Windows 10 or do the System Recovery, when Windows boots to desktop first time I only have default drivers installed and desktop shown on one display, but when I just let Windows there without doing anything, Windows will automatically download and install correct display drivers within a few minutes, and suddenly the external displays come to life.
