Windows 10: System Repair Disk

On Windows 11, 24H2, Build 26100.2033 my current system, The OS will not allow to use a USB to create a system repair disk under backup/restore Windows 7. I have already made a system image backup on my LaCie Hard Drive sucessfully. The current OS states it must be a CD/CD-ROM. This is old technology. Is there a way to create this system repair disk on a USB? Is this going to be changed-it really should be? Thanks, Chuck

Both the computers would have USB ports so I suggest you to create a Recovery drive instead of Repair disk. Here are the steps:

One Recovery drive would work on both the computers.

You might have to disable Fast boot/Secure boot to boot from the recovery drive if you need to. Consult the PC manufacturer on how to do it.

 

Programs not working

In post 26 there were steps listed to fix the operating system corruption.
Are you able to follow them?
In post 29 was the suggested dism repair command.
