Windows 10: System & Reserved taking up 100+ GB of space

So I've been having this issue where my windows system and reserved space is taking up way over 100+ GB of storage on my PC which is far from normal. I've tried a few things already and gotten nowhere. I even tried using the index options method and performed a restart along with tried using TreeSize to see if I could find where the files were stored but nothing abnormal showed there either. I honestly have no clue at this point as I've never had this issue on any PC before.

System and Reserve taking about 150 GB of Space

I just uninstalled and reinstalled Windows 10 on a new SurfacePro. There's only two applications reinstalled and 0 files. The System and Reserve are taking about 150 GB of space. Something seems wrong.

Normally, I'm an Apple user. But I need this device to work with Zoom for my classes.

 

System and reserved taking 41.7 GB of space

Problem: Something is taking up a lot of space on my PC

Initial Analysis of the storage showed that System & Reserved is using 41.7GB of storage.



Analysis using TreeSize:
I did some research on why I have little available storage space and saw some posts online that it may be due to logs or something that is causing the System & Reserved to be taking up a lot of storage. The suggestions made said to download Treesize to get a better analysis of the storage sub-structure.





TreeSize showed that 56.9 GB is in the sub-folder PendingDeletes. I tried deleting the files but it said I did not have permission to delete files. I needed permission from TrustedInstaller as that was the administrator.

I was able to change the administration privileges to my account to delete and I encountered another permissions error.




Has anyone had this problem before?

 

Need to move/fix location of System Reserved partition

You will do multiple steps with Partition Wizard Free:

1. Shrink C: drive partition by 100 gb with the 100gb free at the end of it.
2. "Resize/move" system reserved partition by removing all the free space in front of it (which should be 100gb after step 1), add the same free space to the end of it.
3. Expand the F: drive partition into the 100gb free space which should now be at the front of it after step 2.
