Windows 10: System restarts when resuming from sleep mode

For several weeks, I have experienced an issue where I press the power button to resume from sleep mode in Windows 11, but nothing appears on the screen even though the computer is on. I then press the power button again, and the computer either turns off or restarts. In the former case, I press the power button again to restart the computer. After restarting, Windows loads normally, but of course my sleep state has been erased, so nothing I had open previously reloads.In Event Viewer, I see critical kernel-power events with event ID 41 and task category 63. Issue with Fingerprint Scanner when Resuming from Sleep Mode

Hi,

I ran the Power troubleshooter, and then restarted the computer.

After the initial login, I put the system into sleep mode, and then woke it. Upon resuming, I get the Hello screen, and after several seconds (It doesn't matter if I touch the fingerprint scanner or
not) I get, "Sorry, something went wrong. Please try again." If I then touch the fingerprint scanner, Hello recognizes me, and I'm logged in. So, this doesn't appear to have made any difference.

Any suggestions on a next step?

Disabling some of the startup programs normally aids a slow response time when resuming from sleep mode. The concern you're experiencing may continue to happen due to some incorrect power settings. Aside from the steps mentioned above, may we know the specific
procedures that you have tried to rectify the issue? You can also indicate other changes made on your device before this issue occurred.

 

Resuming Videos after Sleep Mode - Windows 10

Hi All,

I've just bought myself a new HP laptop running Windows 10. I've found that every time I try to resume a video after my laptop has gone into Sleep Mode, I cannot get it to play without restarting my computer.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated as this is wasting sooo much of my time.
