Windows 10: System Restore - limited to only 1- 2 days ?

I have windows 10 and 500GB hard drive.


However unlike with Windows 7, or XP which had numerous automatic restore points stretching back 1- 2 weeks, with Windows 10, there is only 1 or 2 restore points under 'normal' conditions limited to 1 to 2 days.


I found the restore facility only had 3% make available. However despite increasing this to 75%, this has not increased the restore period.






Why cant I set System Restore over a longer time period? Or have i misunderstood?

Windows 10 1709 System Restore problems...


That seems to be an attempt at Option 2 in the tutorial, which requires you to
a. Boot to a command prompt (Did you?)
b. You then seem to be mixing steps 3,4 and 5, thus your command is incorrect.

I suggest Option 1 is easier.

If you still have problems, please repost listing each specific step and saying which option from the tutorial you are using. Thanks.

 

Windows XP PRO error after restore

System restore is handy when it works like it did for me 2 days ago saving the need to reinstall all of my software as well as windows, id suggest using norton Ghost 12 for an excellent system restore feature.
