    System restore - weird behavior


    There's still a problem, too, because the same thing continues to happen. I still can't delete my past restore points if I want to, and disabling system restore also doesn't delete them. As I described earlier, my hdd doesn't gain any space back, even though system restore claims the restore points are deleted. The only way to gain my space back is to use this command:

    vssadmin Resize ShadowStorage /For=C: /On=C: /Maxsize=320MB

    It's the only way for me to gain my disk size back if I delete my restore points. So something has got to wrong with my system. Avast shows no infections and Malwarebytes also shows no issues. The slider in system restore seems to do nothing.

    To see if File History is set to off go to Control Panel, System and Security, File History.
