    'System sounds' keeps muting windows 10


    I have a problem where the 'System Sounds' in the 'Volume Mixer' keeps automatically muting after some time. This is problematic because I am trying to setup hourly alerts in the windows Clock app maybe this is interfering somehow?.From what I can tell, it mutes after a few minutes.I have seen others have the problem with unmuting, but not the other way around.Any help would be appreciated.

    Keeping system sound muted forever?

    I have Acer Nitro 5 AN515-52 laptop running 64 bit windows 10 version 21H2 (Build 19044.1706).I like to keep the system sounds (not the media, music, etc. sound) always muted using the mute button. However, whenever I reboot my laptop, the sound automatically comes back to a medium level.How can I keep the system volume always muted?

    @archz2 Have you tried using the slider... then using the mute button?

    Aha. No I didn't. I was always clicking on the mute button. Now the problem seems to be resolved. I'll observe for 3-4 days now.
    Thanks a lot. Will definitely check it out.
    I'm always on this setting. Actually there's this annoying system beep sound when I switch on my charger while the laptop is starting. That's the one I'm trying to avoid.
