Windows 10: system stalls prior to sign on page

A few weeks back I uploaded all the MS Updates and reloading MSFS. The logon screens appears but is locked up for ~4min before I can enter my pin. I've monitored the forums to look for fixes. The sytem boots in safe mode ok. I created a 2nd account and that has the same issue as it freezes before I can even choose the account. After 4 minutes and the screens blinking on/off a couple times, it eventually boots and everything is fine?

System stall?

Edge and Explorer seem to work properly. O download pages and Youtube works. I just started the PC, so it is not stalling. I also updated McAfee. System seems to be working fine. But the stall happens after hibernating. I will contact McAfee to see if
they can help also. Thanks.

Please share the details.

• 
  What do you mean by ‘compromised the passcode’?
  
• 
  What is the make and model of your computer?
  
• 
  Have you checked with a different keyboard? What is the status?
  

As a work around, I suggest you to unplug and reconnect the keyboard from the system and check if it resolves the issue.



If the issue persists, I suggest you to use On Screen Keyboard and check if you are able to type the password correctly.

If you can sign in using On Screen Keyboard, I suggest you to download and install the latest chipset drivers from your computer manufacturer website and check if it resolve the issue.

Thank you for responding.

To assist you better do let us know the following:

• What is the make and model of your device?
• Have you tried connecting the external keyboard and check if the issue persists?
• Is this issue specific while performing any particular task?

If you are able to access the external keyboard, I suggest you to uninstall the drivers and re-install them.

Step 1: Uninstall keyboard driver.

• Press Windows key + X key when you are at desktop.
• Select Device Manager.
• Expand Keyboard.
• Right on the Keyboard driver
  and click on Uninstall.

Step 2: Update the driver.

• Press Windows key + X key when you are at desktop.
• Select Device Manager.
• Expand Keyboard.
• Right on the Keyboard driver
  and click on Update driver software.

Also, try to search for the drivers from Manufacturer's website and install them in the compatibility mode.

You can install Windows 8/8.1 drivers in compatibility mode if there are no Windows 10 compatible drivers.

Follow the steps to install in Compatibility mode:

• Download the updated driver from the manufacturer’s website.
• Right click the driver installation file and select
  Properties then tap or click the Compatibility tab.
• Place a check in the Run this program in compatibility mode for: box.
  
• Tap the drop down box and select a previous operating system, then tap or click
  OK.
• Try installing the driver and check.
