  1. System taking days to boot. Runs great until restart needed.

Firstly, let me apologize for not having any specs at the moment. The PC in question is currently on hour 22 of its boot up. I'll try to describe the problem as best as I can:

When I go to start my PC, I get a power light, and some minimal fan sounds, but that is it. The power light will remain on solidly and I'll get no other response from the computer for days. I get output to the monitor (no bios info, just 'no display' message), but I have power going to my keyboard and mouse, as evidenced by their lights.

It will remain in that state for about 3 days, and then I'll happen to notice the power light blinking, which means it's ready to go. The computer runs like a charm at that point, and will do so until I restart it for an update, or we lose power or something.

I read a similar post from about 6 months ago, and my next step is to try Kyhi's recovery tool. I'm curious if anyone has any input on that, since my system does not show any signs of wanting to boot up initially at all.

That's enough out of me for now. I'll get if I can think of anything pertinent, my system boots up (allowing me to post spec), or to answer questions.

    :)

  2. Windows 10 runs great all day until computer is shut down

Same thing happened to me. I now have about 8 hours into the problem (ALL AT THE EXPENSE OF PAYABLE WORK!)

In my case it has something to do with having or not having an online Microsoft account. Apparently, they don't tell you everything you need to know when you do the upgrade, and if the right kind of Microsoft online account isn't set up in advance you are
    screwed royally.

The Dell Gold Support technicians I have been on line with knew a lot more about this than the Microsoft techs. Frustrating. Microsoft techs told me they were sending me to level 2 support, that level 2 support would call in an hour. When they didn't call
for 2 hours I called in again and was told my case had not been upgraded to level 2, and there was no way anyone could call for 48 hours. AGGRAVATING.

I cannot log into my machine, which means I cannot roll back to Windows 7. I've been on hold again for 30 minutes waiting for Microsoft to do what they said they would do. Fourth time today. This has been a disaster.

Microsoft could not have handled this more badly.

Windows 10 runs great all day until computer is shut down

    Hi Mike,

Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

This issue might be occurring due to the corrupt start up files.

I suggest you to follow link to download the Windows 10 ISO
    refer the link below.

    Download Windows 10

Try to perform Automatic Repair in Windows recovery tool
that can fix certain system problems that might prevent Windows from starting. Automatic Repair scans your computer for the problem and then tries to fix it so your computer can start correctly. Download a Windows 10 ISO in DVD or USB.

    a) After you boot your computer using Windows DVD or System Repair Disc, a black screen appears with gray text "Press any key to boot from CD or DVD". Press any key.

    b) Select the correct time and Keyboard type.

    c) Click Repair your computer in the lower left corner.

    d) Select Troubleshoot from Choose an option screen.

    e) Click advanced options in Troubleshoot screen.

    f) Select Automatic repair.

And also update the latest Display drivers from the manufacturer web site

Also refer the link for more information

Desktop screen flashes on and off

Hope this helps. If the issue remains unresolved, please get back to us and we would be happy to help

    Thanks.

System taking days to boot. Runs great until restart needed.

When was your computer last working normally?
What hardware or software changes have you made recently?
Which operating system version are you using?
What is the computer manufacturer and model?

Place your computer in safe mode with command prompt and run sfc /scannow.

Does you computer have UEFI diagnostic studies to run from the bios?

Do you have your files backed up?

  5. A few months ago. I initially thought it was just broken.

    No new hardware or software.

    Windows 10, current updates.

Not sure. It's a Newegg slap-together. (Promise I'll get more info once it's up again)

Can't troubleshoot right now. Not until it's up again.

I have nothing backed up, but I have nothing crucial on it I'm worried about.
