Windows 10: System unit hum (fan cleaned)

Hey people. My system unit makes a constant humming sound, always in a kind of pulsing in and out way. The volume varies but it's usually quite audible. I thought it must be the fan so I opened it up and cleaned the fan with compressed air and also cleaned out all the dust in the unit. But the problem remains. Any guesses or suggestions welcome. Thanks

Are the tape deck and your laptop connected to the same power strip? If not, see if that helps.

Tracking down sources of hum can be difficult. I suggest that your read the articles I linked to earlier and follow the steps they outline as best you can.

 

Sound System 80 hum problem

The main part of my trusty Sound System has begun making a humming sound whenever it's powered. (doesn't matter if the speakers are attached or whether it's attached to a computer. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks.

 

Intermittent humming noise from CPU fan

Hi, this is Sabbir. My cpu fan makes humming sound intermittently. Sometimes the sound vanishes all on a sudden, and comes back after some time.

I thought this was happening because of using windows 10, so I installed windows 7, but got no result. Then I thought this was happening because of dust, so I got it cleaned 2 days ago; but the result is depressing. The sound still exists. I cannot understand
what is the problem and what to do.

Here is the complete configuration of my computer:

Processor- Pentium(R) Dual-Core CPU E5400 @ 2.70 GHz 2.69GHz

Memory- 2.00 GB RAM

32-bit operating system
