  2. Edge Search Does Not Permit Change of Region

I got these suggestions from the Microsoft Community forum.No. 1 worked for me:

Thank you for posting the query on Microsoft Community. I am glad to assist you on this.
We have reproduce the issue here and we are able to access non-regional search for google using Microsoft Edge.
I would suggest you to try the below steps and check if it helps.
    Step 1:
Clear browsing data option of Microsoft Edge and check if you face the issue. To do so perform the steps below.

    1. Click on the More actions icon next to the feedback icon present on top right corner of the Project Spartan homepage.
    2. Select Settings and click on Choose what to clear.
    3. Check the boxes Browsing history, Cookies and saved website data and Cached data and files and click on Clear.
    Step 2:
I suggest you to create a new user account and check if the issue occurs.

    1. Go to Settings.
    2. Choose Accounts and then select Family and other users.
    3. Select add someone else on this PC.
    4. Enter a user name and hit next.
    5. Click on Finish.
    6. Sign out from the current Account and Log into the new account.
    Step 3:
It could also happen because of network issue. I suggest you to try with different network connection and check if it helps.

  3. Lumia 950 is using a ton of cell data while on wifi

    Hi Rowdy,

We suggest you use Data Sense to manage and limit your data usage. Data Sense will tell you which app is using consuming the most data. Click
here to learn more about Data Sense.

Also, you may turn off app backup and messaging sync to reduce data usage. To turn off app backup, follow these steps:

    • Navigate to Backup.
    • Tap on Settings.
    • Tap on Update & Security.
    • Tap on Backup, and choose "More options".

You should see something like this. You may disable automatic backups for all apps, or choose apps individually.

Turn turn off sync for Messaging, follow these steps:

    • Open the Messaging app.
    • Click on the ellipsis ("...") in the bottom part of the menu.
    • Click on Settings and turn "Sync messages between devices" off.

You should see something like this.

Let us know how it goes.

System using a ton of network data

"System" using a ton of data

I have plenty of storage space. That's not the issue I'm having. As for security, I ran a virus scan and Malwarebytes scan as well to be safe and nothing out of the ordinary so I don't think this is a virus issue.

This issue I'm talking about is under the Settings | Network & Internet | Data Usage screen, which measures network traffic on and off of your PC over the past 30 days. The reason a break down of the data would be useful is to know exactly how much data
Windows Updates, Windows Telemetry, and stuff I actually want to use the computer for is actually consuming in a given month. I want to know this for two reasons:

    A) On my PC, that still seems oddly high, though like I said before it starts to make sense if it is counting my backups running. But I only checked this screen in the first place as the first step to figuring out B) below

    B) A permanent hotspot might be a good faster internet solution for my parents who only have DSL, but even with unlimited data plans there are still speed caps. Then Verizon would cut speeds down to 600kbps, which would actually be slower than DSL they
have now. The question becomes, how much data do they consume in a given month? Part of that is also, how much get's consumed by Windows background processes like Windows Update and Windows Telemetry, and how much can I disable? One thing I can say, their
Data Usage numbers are nowhere close to mine, because they are actual people who go outside instead of me, who geeks out and games entirely too much.
