Windows 10: System32 file errors during installation process

System32 and more errors, to be more exact.

Hiya.

The problem

I built myself my first new pc in 7 years (build described below) over the weekend. When it became time to install Windows 10 from a USB stick onto my correctly installed m.2 nvme SSD, that's when the problems started. The install went fine until the initial restart. That's when I got an error message telling me that Windows can't verify the digital signature of a file. However, most of the time I get a system32 error relating to a random file. A different file during every start up. Though I also still randomly get the digital signature error.

Also, during every reinstall, I'm prompted to format the m.2 and convert the drive to GPT. Every time. I do this correctly every time.

What I've already tried to troubleshoot the problem

I've tried installing Windows on an old SATA SSD instead. Doesn't work either. And when I format the drive, it for some reason still prompts me to pick a volume I installed Windows on. When I click on one, I get another blue screen error message.

I've also tried different USB sticks to boot the Windows install from, and tried several downloads to make sure the files weren't corrupted.

Nothing worked so far. So given that I can't install Windows regardless of disk that I want to install on (SATA or m.2) or from (different USB sticks), my guess is that it's a bios or motherboard issue. But I cannot be sure.

It's primarily meant to function as a music production PC, but also for some less intensive video editing.

Error: No work available to process

Hmm. Either it's put out errors and WCG is limiting the work units available, or the project list may not be set to supply other WU when one runs out. (if the problem lies here and not on your end)

On the options to your left, if you go into Results Status, select the computer from Device Name and then look through results see if either they were returned late, errors or any other kind of issue that would stop the servers supplying WU from that perspective.

If there are no errors then it's maybe down to your project list. So selecting Device Manager from the left menu and then clicking on the profile assigned to that computer and make sure that it's assigned to receive WU for other projects if they run out.

At least those steps will rule out problems from the WCG end.

 

Error 2203: "...another process has locked a portion of the file" ??

Alright everyone, I am at my wits end here. I am attempting to install Office 2010. Every time I try to install it it starts and about 10 seconds later stops with an error. "Error 2203. The process cannot access the file because another process has locked a portion of the file."

I have tried running the installer as admin, installing to a different area, disabling all other services on startup except for Microsoft services, ending various processes in the background. NOTHING seems to be working. Any ideas what the hell the deal is?
