  1. Systray icon-related panels not showing up or being in a gray state

    Hi everyone,

I have an HP ProBook 450 G6 laptop with Windows 10 Pro installed. I have just upgraded Windows version from 1809 to 1903 actual build 18362.592.

After the upgrade some Windows functionalities are not working. Here I list the ones I already faced, in order of urgency I need them to be solved.

Firstly I have the following problem with systray, in my case related to battery and network icon, but the problem could be in general with other systray icons. The icons mentioned are visible, so I don't have the problem they are hidden, but when clicking on them the related panels don't appear, so I'm not able to change my battery mode best performance-best battery life, which is helpful especially when it is running low, and I'm not able to connect/switch/disconnect to/between/from wifi networks.

I need the written above functionalities to be repaired as soon as possible, for everyday life.

Another minor failure I faced is that locking the user requires more time than it did before the upgrade, and also the screen automatically goes to password/pin entering page, instead of being focused on "screen-saver". In addition, the latter does not show the time.

I hope there is a solution which solves those faults without having to downgrade to 1809 version. I am sure the problem is related to Windows Upgrade because I checked all the drivers and I scanned all the hardware through HP system diagnosis and all is right from this point of view.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Thank you in advance

    :)

Grayed out "ghost" printer icons in Control Panel

    Hi all,

I am stuck with three "ghost" printers (grayed out) in Control Panel / Devices and Printers. I completely uninstalled the HP Printer Software. In the printer dialog of i.e. Office applications the printers are not listed anymore, but the three grayed out
printer icons in control panel remain. I have searched the web far and wide and tried different approaches to get rid of the icons:

    - right click / remove device - does not give an error message, but does not remove the printer icon

    - remove all entries in Control Panel / Administrative Tools / Print Management

    - remove all relevant entries in the registry keys as outlined in https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/102966

Nothing. The grayed out printer icons are still there.

Is there anything else I can try besides reinstalling Windows 10?

  3. Gray bar at bottom of each folder in large icons view

    • What are the changes made or things you've done before the issue start? I ran hitmanpro.
    • Do this gray bar displays on all folders and files in the File Explorer?
The gray bar does display on all folders in the File Explorer but not individual files themselves. The gray bar only displays on all folders in view as Extra Large Icons, Large Icons, and Medium Icons. The gray bar does not show when view is either in Small
      Icons or List, or Details.
    • Does the folders and files with the gray bar can still be accessed successfully?
Yes all folders with the gray bar and the individual files in the folders can be accessed.
I am currently running System File Checker and will let you know if that works.

If if doesn't work then I'll run DISM or System Update Readiness tool as suggested.

    Thank you so much.

    *UPDATE*

The results of System File Checker says "Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations."

Now I'll run DISM or System Update Readiness Tool as suggested.
