Windows 10: Tabs in the Explorer

If I select something in settings or something opens a folder in explorer, it opens in a new window instead of a new tab. Is there any way to fix this?

• Open the File Explorer and try to search for files.
• In the toolbar, open the View tab and click List
  to change the view.
• Once changed, close the File Explorer.
• Open the File Explorer again and try to search to see if the setting has been retained.

To resolve the issue with your browser when opening/viewing a new document, we suggest making your Internet Explorer as a default browser. To do so, please follow the steps below:

• Press Windows key+R to open Run dialog box.
• Type inetcpl.cpl, then hit Enter.
• Under Internet Properties, click Programs tab.
• Click Make Internet Explorer the default browser.

• In the left pane, select Internet Explorer.
• Click Set this program as default.
• Click OK.
