Windows 10: Tags in OneDrive not viewable

This is a very important issue that is disastrous to over 55,000 photos and many years of work that I am sharing on OneDrive.


I must find a solution. It has been going on for far too long as a known problem. Just turn on the old system it worked!!! Then disappeared. MANY complaints have been received. It should appear in the next update or I and many others will go to a different service.


The associated search change was positive. Some method to limit searches to the folder you are standing in is essential. You can still search for tags if they are there, just no way to see them or to organize the right hand info column.


Also changed in that same update was eliminating viewing more than one line of a long caption. It seems to be all part of one big programming change that needs to be fixed.

Windows 10 - OneDrive

Right click on the app and one of the properties has an option to not automatically start it. Uncheck, restart the computer, and it should stop. If you want to go another step further, find the OneDrive app in the start menu, right click on it and uninstall.

If that is still insufficient, there is a batch uninstaller for OneDrive available online. I can copy the code here if you need it.

 

Edit Music file tags stored on OneDrive still not possible?

Details tab in Properties is an "ancient" and not reliable way to save tags. Try to do that using a decent player or tag editor. The issue you state happens only to you and has nothing to do with OneDrive.

I suggest again to use MP3TAG editor and perform a test.
Open an mp3 file with MP3TAG, delete old tags (if exist) and then, create new ones.
Upload that file to OneDrive, then download it and see what happens.

I'm almost sure that the problem has to do with the way of writing/saving tags and not with OneDrive.

When using the Details tab to fill in the tags, they also appear back again when downloading the file from OneDrive. It's just that the tags disappear when the file is online only on OneDrive. I want them to appear when the file is online only.
