Windows 10: Taking Care of My Hp Laptop Notebook PC's Battery to have a Long Life Span

Hello Everyone,


My name is Ajith, I am from India. I am here to clear my doubt regarding taking care of my Hp Notebook Battery which is running Windows 10, 64 bit, Version 2004. I have came across two different discussion on one single topic in the internet which is people say that keeping our laptop' battery energy percentage between 30% to 90% all the time and draining our laptop battery completely once every two months or three months will actually help the notebook battery to have a long life span.



And another set of people discuss that draining the notebook's battery will actually reduce the lifespan of our laptop's battery in the long run but instead they are advising PC users to maintain the battery energy percentage between 30% to 90% all the time without draining the laptop's battery every two or three months to increase the life span of our notebook's battery.



So this is my doubt currently, which one should i really go with? Should I maintain my battery percentage between 30% to 90% and drain my battery once every two months or three months or maintain my battery percentage within 30% to 90% without draining the battery.

HP Offers Laptop Batteries with Three-Year Life Span

Hewlett-Packard (HP) on Monday began offering as an accessory to its consumer laptops batteries that can hold their capacity for up to three years. The new batteries are the work of Boston-Power, and use updated lithium-ion technology that is said to be better than other similar solutions. Boston-Power's Sonata battery will be available as optional choice for 18 existing notebook models representing approximately 70 percent of HP’s consumer notebook PC portfolio. Boston-Power claims its batteries won't give up their capacity for three years, that's roughly three times longer than most other notebook batteries offered to date. In addition, the Sonata accumulators can recharge faster, reaching 80% of capacity in 30 minutes. Lastly, HP will give a three year warranty for each Sonata battery. Available now at HP, the $149.99 accessory Sonata battery fits models in the HP Pavilion, HP HDX, Compaq Presario and HP G series. A complete list of compatible individual models is available here. battery not charging on my hp notebook

I see that your laptop’s battery is not charging. We would like to know, if you get a message stating plugged in not charging when hovering the mouse over the battery icon.



If you see the message plugged in not charging, I suggest you to refer the troubleshooting steps mentioned below and see if that helps:

1. Press Windows Logo key + X, and select
   Device Manager.
   
2. Expand Battery.
   
3. Right click on Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery, and select
   Uninstall.
   
4. Click OK to confirm.
   
5. Restart the computer.
