Windows 10: Tamper protection randomly turning off and graying out and preventing me from running...

Hi, I noticed today that my windows 11 pc will randomly turn off Tamper protection and gray out with the message "This setting is managed by your administrator." When this happens, I can't turn it back on and I'm also unable to run scans with windows defender. What I've found is that when I sign out and sign back in it turns back on by itself and I regain full control, but sometimes when I restart or turn it on initially or run it for some time it sometimes turns off and grays out.- Windows Defender is the only anti virus on the pc, no 3rd party apps- I am the only user of this PC- Windows def

Tamper Protection grayed out

Hi,

on my Windows Security panel. the Tamper Protection button is grayed off. I would like to turn it off to temporarily turn off my real-time protection. there is a warning saying "This setting is managed by your administrator." but the thing is. this is my personal PC and I'm the administrator. There are no other answers on Google so I am turning here for help.

for some context. for a while I lent my PC to my mother so she could do work from home. she had installed some stuff like nordlayer, a time tracker, and at some point an antivirus (I'm not sure about the antivirus) for the company. I deleted it all and all the unfamiliar files. so maybe this is what is causing the Tamper Protection button to be grayed out.

I pasted every command in the CMD running as an administrator but my Tamper Protection is still grayed out.

do you have any other ideas?

Cant turn off tamper protection

I can see here that you cannot turn off the tamper protection. Please follow the steps below:

1. Please click start menu and type Access Work or School and hit enter. Check if there's an account connected, please try to disconnect it and check if you will be able to turn off the tamper protection.
