Windows 10: Task bar getting wider after system crash

Discus and support Task bar getting wider after system crash in Windows 10 BSOD Crashes and Debugging to solve the problem; I like positioning my task bar to the left side, and while doing that, the task bar often gets wider for no reason multiple times if I leave it alone....     Task bar getting wider after system crash


    I like positioning my task bar to the left side, and while doing that, the task bar often gets wider for no reason multiple times if I leave it alone. The recent one happened after a system crash hypervisor_error due to me using insider version of WSL2


    My last desktop and current one with Windows 10 both experienced this problem. I know the task bar width can be easily adjusted manually, but still it's an annoying and reoccurring bug that requires some attention.

    Cannot modify Task Bar settings

    Hi,

    Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

    I understand your concern and will be happy to assist you.

    I suggest you to follow the steps below and check if the issue persists.

    • Right click on the Task Bar.
    • Uncheck the option " Lock the Taskbar."

    I suggest you run rthdribl > http://www.daionet.gr.jp/~masa/archives/rthdribl_1_2.zip
    Increase the window size step by step and watch your vga temps permanently.
    What happens?
    If it crashes, run at stock speeds as suggested before and retry.

    P.S.: When your system locks, does the display signal turn off after a time?
    Stuttering sound or no sound at all when freezing?
    What X1800XT model do you own exactly?
