Windows 10: Task bar shows "no internet"even when internet is working

I am using windows 10 which most of the times shows 'no internet access'on the task bar even when the internet works perfect.

I am able to browse on most search engines ,but certain applications on my PC cannot access the internet at the same time.

I can even download items from the store while some apps can't connect to the internet.

No internet icons showing up-can not logon to internet

When I boot up my laptop the internet icon on the task bar shows a red "X" and none of my internet icons are listed. The airplane mode is turned off, the Wi-Fi switch is in the on position, the wireless router is working fine(my wife can logon with no problem). I looked at the Device Manager and it shows everything is running properly. Anyone have any ideas as what is going on?

the internet connection icon insists on showing that I am in airplane mode even though the internet connection is working fine, as it is now.

toggling the airplane mode key on my laptop makes no difference to the icon in the task bar, although it does switch the internet on and off.

it is very annoying not to be able to rely on the icon in the task bar, what is going on ?

ps I have tried all the obvious things such as rebooting the machine etc.

 

Throttlestop obsidian not showing readouts in task bar

I had the previous version of throttlestop installed on a surface pro running windows 10 and it was working beautifully but now I am having trouble getting throttlestop to show temp/cpu reporting in the windows task bar. I have 'Task Bar' checked in the main window but still nothing appears. The check boxes within Options for Notification Area such as CPU Temp and CPU Mhz do not respond when clicked. Am i missing something/is there something else I need to do in order to get throttlestop obsidian to report to the task bar?
