Task Manager do not showing all apps consuming memory

    Hello,

Even this problem it seems to be veeeery old I have found threads at least 5 years old it continues on Windows 10 version 2004 OS build 19041.685.

I have a 32 GB RAM notebook and am working with VirtualBox machines, but Task Manager will not show how much memory consume the virtual box process.

Why? In other threads on the same problem someone states that Task Manager will show only applications and services memory usage - so VirtualBox where would be classified?

Why I have to use the resource monitor which by the way will show the proper values for a simple task like check memory usage?

Is there a way to correct the info in the Task Manager?

    Kind Regards,

    Lucian

    :)

Task manager not showing complete memory usage?

This has a couple of angles on this topic:
All Physical memory being used but nothing showing in task manager - Microsoft Community

Note the comment about data loaded into RAM- not necessarily exe's or dlls.

The top file is an O&O disk image file I've just created and written to an external USB.
The second is part of creating OO DiskImage's bootable CD

Task Manager - Memory Compression Process?

    Hello,

In my main system I have a process going that I don't understand. I have 2 computers sitting side by side and when I located this anomaly in my main system, I checked my 2nd system and it showed a different set of information.
I will post the screen snaps here below of each.

This first one is from my main computer I use continuously.
This image shows what seems to be nothing going on with the Memory Compression and I wonder why it is even in the task listings.

This second one is my Security Surveillance system running 24/7
It definitely shows a different set of memory numbers on this image of the Memory Compression. Much more then the above image.

Do I need this listing in my system. In the main system task it looks like it is doing nothing, yet in my security system computer, it has much more information given. What does this task do for the computer?

    Thanks for your time

Cortana disabled-still showing 38mb in Memory of Task Manager?

The title really says it all. I only have 2Gb of memory on my pc stick & I just rec'c a warning about my memory being stretched, so I disabled Cortana, (which I don't use anyway), but in the Memory column of the Task Manager it's still showing that 38Mb is being used. Why? Appreciate any suggestion guys!! Thanks.
