Reproduction/reason: Hangs due to WlanSvc service as seen in Resource Monitor. Once I stop that service it resumes normally. WlanSvc handles Wi-Fi, and after stopping it TaskMgr works and doesn't display Wi-Fi device. Wi-Fi stops working after killing the service.

How to reproduce: Open Task Manager.

How to bypass: Open Services, stop WlanSvc service.

Steps Taken: Up-to-date Windows, Safe mode, Wi-Fi off, disable, uninstall. Use 32-bit taskmanager (same issue), use Process Explorer (works). Stop offending service discovered from Resource Monitor (resolves temporarily, but leaves me with no Internet). Posted in Feedback Hub.

Summary: Something after 22H2 update prevents WlanSvc from functioning properly causing Task Manager to not function as it enumerates Wi-Fi. This Service is also responsible for the related GetHelp.exe crash and others I posted in Feedback Hub.

Update: Added video demonstrating what happens and how to reproduce the issue.

  3. Microsoft Edge / DUI70.DLL causes Task Manager to crash.

    Steps to reproduce:

    1. Open the latest Microsoft Edge.
    2. Open Task Manager with "performance" (or any other than "processes") as default tab.
    3. Wait a few seconds.
    4. Switch to "processes" tab.
After switched to "processes" tab, there's a small change Task Manager will crash (0xC0000005, faulting module: DUI70.DLL).

So I decided to use WinDbg and caught the crash into a MiniDump:

    MiniDump: OneDrive

Hope you guys will fix bugs of Task Manager, it's very buggy. I encountered more crashes like 0xc0000409 NTDLL.DLL.

    Task Manager Hang & Crash

No restart button in task manager

another easy way to kill tasks, download and install Winaero Tweaker(free) and theres a setting to add a Kill non responding tasks using the desktop right click menu. When you place your cursor on the desktop anywhere and right click the option is at the top of the list, Very handy and you dont have to go through all those steps and well Winaero Tweaker has alot of cool Windows tweaks. Just posting a different suggestion, Im sure your ok with what was suggested here.
