Windows 10: Task manager internet icon not working

I went to jump on my pc tonight after leaving it on all day to run some game updates while i was at work and when i got home i saw my pc looked like it had run an auto update all my windows were closed out and i wasnt connected to the internet. When i went to connect to the internet the task icon would open and load then immediately close without showing me any networks. When i ran the trouble shooter all it gives me is the standard "hey ethernet and dial up look similar but arent" which isnt helpful as im connected via WiFi. I ran a DISM scan and it says i have corrupted files but when i run a DISM /restorehealth it doesnt do anything at all and says i need the source of the files...which i dont have because i dont know whats corrupted.

task viewer icon(virtual desktop)

I have the same problem. The task viewer icon was there but is now gone. I have gone through the steps you listed but no viewer. Then I created a new profile and the task viewer is there. Now, how do I get the task viewer back in my taskbar in my
original profile??

If the icon is hidden from the task bar, you can enable it by using the following steps. The icon might be hidden. Here's how to show the battery icon:

• Right-click an empty area on the taskbar, and then click
  Properties.
• Under Notification area, click
  Customize.
• In Notification Area Icons, click on Select
  which icons appear on Taskbar.
• On in the drop-down list next to
  Power, and then click OK.

If the issue still persists you can try Updating the latest Power management driver software for Windows 10 from the manufacturer website.
