Windows 10: Task Manager issues Windows 11

Hi All,My task manager, when opening, shows 100% CPU on the top but all jobs and apps running show 0%. When I click on the Performance tab the task manager crashes. You can also hear the fans of the laptop going on when I open Task Manager and I haven't even opened any apps yet. I believe, not 100% sure, that this only started after the latest updates:2022-09 Cumulative Update for Windows 11 for x64-based Systems KB50173832022-09 Cumulative Update Preview for .NET Framework 3.5, 4.8 and 4.8.1 for Windows 11 for x64 KB5017859Would anyone have an idea how to fix this issue? No restart button in task manager

another easy way to kill tasks, download and install Winaero Tweaker(free) and theres a setting to add a Kill non responding tasks using the desktop right click menu. When you place your cursor on the desktop anywhere and right click the option is at the top of the list, Very handy and you dont have to go through all those steps and well Winaero Tweaker has alot of cool Windows tweaks. Just posting a different suggestion, Im sure your ok with what was suggested here.

 

Windows 10 - cannot add exec to Startup in Task Manager

I purchased a new computer with Windows 10 already installed. I am trying to add an exec to the startup list but Win10 will not accept it. The exec runs successfully on my Windows 10 machine if I start it manually.

Steps I've taken: Task Manager, Startup Tab, File>Run New Task. (browse to location, select.) It will start immediately, but does not show up on the list to autostart, nor does it start on reboot.

Any suggestions?

  Right click on the task Bar and select Task Manager.
  
• 
  Select Processes tab.
  
• 
  Choose windows explorer and right click on it.
  
• 
  Select end task
  
• 
  Click on file menu and select run new task.
  
• 
  Type explorer.exe
  
• 
  Click on ok.
