Windows 10: Task manager kept closing but it then stopped

I went to open the task manager and it suddenly started closing after 4 seconds when I hit view allI remembered that I downloaded an edge extension and when I disabled it, it stopped Is the virus still on my pc?

No restart button in task manager

another easy way to kill tasks, download and install Winaero Tweaker(free) and theres a setting to add a Kill non responding tasks using the desktop right click menu. When you place your cursor on the desktop anywhere and right click the option is at the top of the list, Very handy and you dont have to go through all those steps and well Winaero Tweaker has alot of cool Windows tweaks. Just posting a different suggestion, Im sure your ok with what was suggested here.

I do a nightly backup and create a log file that use to stay open when finished so I could check it every morning, but now it closes; here are my settings:

Like Ed said below, windows does not have a built in task manager. However, you can trust the windows phone to close or suspend apps automatically.

However, if you really badly want these apps to stop running in the background here are two things you can do.

a) Simply restart the phone.

b) Activate battery saver option in settings. This will automatically kill all background apps.

Just a note, these are not the official steps from windows phone support. Just something I learnt from experience.
