Wrong RAM speed in Windows Task Manager

Not true, mine shows 2800 MHz in Task Manager, and it`s default speed is 2133, like most high speed ram.

Faith, there is nothing wrong with having 2 XMP profiles, I bought 2666 and was quite happy when I saw 2800 along with 2666. Task Manager showing Wrong base speed :)

Why don`t you just run it at 2800 MHz, there`s nothing wrong with having the voltage at 1.35, it`s totally normal. You have an X99 board and a 5820K, You should take full advantage of it.

And I don`t see DDR4 or "other" anywhere in my shot, post a snip of yours.

XMP Profile 1600MHZ RAM, Task Manager Shows 1066

Windows ALWAYS shows stock rated speeds in Task Manager. My CPU runs at 4.5GHz and yet Task Manager shows 3.30 GHz I think (or 3.6) on the right side. However, under utilization column on the left, it shows the actual clock. Same goes for memory. Windows will show speed based on SPD on the right side. You can have it overclocked and it'll show stock speed there. Btw, XMP profiles are a form of overclock, so there's a reason why it still shows 1066MHz which is official rated speed for your platform.

  4. Task Manager showing Wrong base speed

Memory speed might be wrong in Task Manager

    Hi,

I guess the speed is from Speed of SMBIOS Type 17, but Speed of SMBIOS Type 17 Identifies the
    maximum capable speed of the

device, but I think we shoud get from Configured Memory Clock Speed of SMBIOS Type 17, it's the configured clock speed to the memory

    device.

If there are two memory slots in my system,

I plug 2400MHz in the slot 1 and 2166 in the slot2, the memory speed shows 2166MHz in Task Manager.

I plug 2166MHz in the slot 1 and 2400 in the slot2, the memory speed shows 2400MHz in Task Manager.

Microsoft shows the memory speed which is from the speed (Identifies the maximum capable speed of the device) of the
last SMBIOS Type 17 Memory Device.
