Windows 10: Task manager shows wrong icon for file explorer

I had this exact issue, well the icon anyway. From this link Task manager shows wrong icon for file explorerWindows 11 Enterprise Edition; when I went to Task Manager, I saw in the Details and the Processes tab that explorer.exe had some WEIRD NON explorer icon.I did update yesterday and thankfully after a Windows 11 CU, it "resolved" the ODD icon and now today I see the explorer.exe icon "normal." When I would go to Properties of the ODD explorer.exe icon, it showed the folder icon as "normal" and it was So ODD. Someone in the link file explorer recommended to create a shortcut and

Have you tried to change your icon? Right click on File Explorer, then right click on File Explorer in the menu and click on Properties. Click on Change Icon and select an icon you want to use. See example image below. This is the image that shows on mine. You may have to reboot your computer or restart File Explorer to get it to show in Task Manager.

I already tried the system file checker tool (sfc/scannow) but it didn't do anything

Try rebuilding the Windows icon cache:

• Close all explorer/folder windows that are currently open;
• Run/Open a new Console window as Administrator;
• Launch "Task Manager" using CTRL+SHIFT+ESC, or by running taskmgr.exe;
• In the Process tab, right-click on the explorer.exe process and select End Process.
• In the Command Prompt window, type the commands one by one and press ENTER after each command:
  Code: CD /d %userprofile%\AppData\Local ATTRIB -H IconCache.db DEL IconCache.db EXIT[/quote]
• Close the Console;
• In Task Manager, click File, select New Task (Run…), type explorer.exe, and click OK.
• Close the Task Manager;
