Windows 10: Task names have changed with adding as prefix "windows."

Task names have changed with adding as prefix "windows." For example: Instead of "New Folder" it is now "windows.newfolder". Or instead of "Copy" it is now "windows.copy".

Also in folders, when I click right with the mouse, i don't get the "delete" or "copy" command. I cannot delete files.


I have Norton 360 and it does not show any virus on my PC.

The applications in general are working fine.

Any suggestion on how to get back to normal would be welcome.

We appreciate you getting back to us. To change the cmd name, we suggest that you follow this steps:

• Open a Command Prompt (Adimin) window: Win+X, A, Alt+Y
• Then run the following command to change your computer name to Donner: WMIC ComputerSystem where Name=COMPUTER-NAME call Rename Name=NewName
• Reboot your PC.
• Try to run ipconfig / all command, you should find that the Host Name in Windows IP Configuration list has been changed to the new name.

If you desire a name change please do the following:

• Ask yourself if you really need a name change.
• Make sure you have a good reason.
• Know what you want your new name to be before you request a name change.
• Send Urlyin a PM containing a decent explanation of your reason as well as your desired name.

 

Adding prefix to Windows account on AD

Hi.....I have a requirement.....We have almost 1000 employees who have windows log in ID as their employee id (Eg - *** Email address is removed for privacy ***)....I need to add location prefix prior to all login account under the domain on specific OU....for example "*** Email address is removed for privacy ***" ......is
any option is available to do this in bulk...?..Also i have users in various OU with department name as OU name...If I can do batch process specific to child OU will be better to avoid any unexpected issues......also i do not want to change user profile.....even
after renaming i would like to have same profile for users instead of creating new profile...I had tested manually adding prefix an account and its not changing the profile ..user get same profile when log in with renamed account...Hope power shell can help
on this to do in bulk...but I m new on the scripting side....any ones help would be greatly appreciated.
