Windows 10: Task Scheduler asks me for Password & disallows my deleting the task on my OWN computer.

Hello, I have my computer set up as I prefer & here comes an update to unravel it! I see that what I have done to prevent microsoft from changing my computer to their way has been undone again I went to the task scheduler to see if what I set up was undone. Yes, it was, and guess what? I cannot change my own computer because someone has set a password to it; further, I am disallowed to delete this task because the message is "You do not have access!" Swell! How is it that Microsoft has commandeered my computer to prevent me from doing what I want? I do not want Microsoft EDGE on my PC! I g

Task Scheduler Password

In the past with Task scheduler I never had to do that and it worked fine but I did as you suggested and had the same result.

 

Tasks still show in Task Scheduler despite being deleted

The OP has not mentioned deleting any program files.
The folder identified by the OP contains Task scheduler task definitions and nothing else.

I am not trying to suggest that the method the OP used is a good one.

Task Scheduler asking for password ?

this is completely baffling.

Why should i be asked to provide a user name and password when I am already logged in as the administrator?

I tried to change certain properties of teh Macrium schedule in Task scheduler but it kept asking for login details. The properties said for it to run whether or not the user was logged in or not - screen shots below









Every time i try and change something in these screens I am asked for a username/password but apart from the fact that I think I should not be asked for these details. I cannot find the right combination that grants me access. I have tried my User account
email address and password and/or PIN but these dont work.

I have come across many articles on the internet about changing properties of tasks in Task scheduler but none of them have mentioned anything about being pressed for login details.

Very curious.

I even created a dummy task in task scheduler using my user name + password but when I tried to edit the properties I was asked for login details. Why?

Is this another peculiarity of windows 10??
