    Task Scheduler does not recognize Excel app


    I have several apps that are started automatically on my pc using the TASK Scheduler without problems, but today I wanted to schedule an Excel app to startup on once a month. I entered the parameters the same as the other Task Scheduler apps that WORK. BUT when I tried to test the Task Scheduler for this EXCEL file the system came up with a list asking me how I wanted to start this file. The list had "XML Handler" and I selected that, BUT NOTHING HAPPENED!"C:\Users\OneDrive\Documents\Richard\History.xlsx"I click on the file itself in file manager and it goes directly to Excel.     [SOLVED] Schedule Tasks not able to open excel file

    When I setup a scheduled task within window 7, it works fine and open an excel file, but when I do the same setting under window 10, it can open excel application, but not able to open excel file.

    I have double checked on both PC and confirm those scheduled settings are correct.

    Does anyone have any suggestions on what wrong setting is?

    I suggest you to clear the task from Task Scheduler using the below steps and check if the issue still persists.

    Steps:-

    • Type Task Scheduler on Search bar.
    • Click on Task Scheduler Library.
    • Select the particular task and right click on it.
    • Select End.

    Task Scheduler does not recognize Excel app

    [SOLVED] Schedule Tasks not able to open excel file

    I have changed user's workgroup to be administrator, but when I run schedule task under user account, it only open Excel Application and fail to open file. It does not seem to be right issue, would it be correct?

    Even through I assign schedule task and run under administrator
    account, but it only open Excel Application and fail to open file.

    Do you have any suggestions on what wrong it is?
