  1. Task Scheduler - launch program hidden in system tray

I am using a program called ThrottleStop to undervolt my laptop. I have configured it via Task Scheduler to launch minimized at the log on of any user. Is there any way to launch it with the icon hidden in the system tray, similar to how Windows Defender works?

    :)

  2. Windows Defender won't load at startup of Windows 10

Okay, I just read a random internet post, that stated Windows Defender runs in the background on Windows 10 and there is no need to have the actual Windows Defender program icon showing up in the "hidden/ popup system tray."

So I rebooted my computer and checked the Task Manager after it was reloaded. In Task Manager, under the Processes Tab, I scrolled down to "Windows processes" and found: Antimalware Service Executable. I then clicked over to the Services tab in Task Manager
and found on one line across: WinDefend (under Name) Windows Defender Service (Status- Running). Under that line I found: WdNisSvc (under Name) Windows Defender Network Inspection Service (Status - Running). So I assume this means that Windows Defender is
    loading after all?

I would still like to have the program's icon in my "hidden/ popup system tray" whether it's needed in there or not. Is there a way to get the Windows Defender icon to load into the "hidden/ popup system tray" at startup?

Thank you all for your time and help!

    task scheduler & batch files

    Hi Don,

Task Scheduler is a component of Microsoft Windows that provides the ability to schedule the launch of programs or scripts at pre-defined times or after specified time intervals: job scheduling (task scheduling). To create a schedule simply click Start button,
click the Search button on the taskbar, type schedule in the blank box and choose Task Scheduler.

For any concerns, don't hesitate to get back to us.

    Regards.

Task Scheduler - launch program hidden in system tray

If the program doesn't have such a setting. automating that is difficult.

There are programs that add buttons to title bars or allow you to rt click the title bar and choose such an option, but that's not relevant to your need to launch it automatically.

This was discussed here, using an Autohotkey script:
Need script to always start program in system tray - AutoHotkey Community
but I would regard that only as a pointer, not a reliable solution.

There were older programs that did this:
(I can't post the link - it does something very odd when I do)

Windows only: Freeware application Trayconizer turns any application into a system tray application in just a few steps. Unlike other previously mentioned minimize-to-system-tray apps like TrayIt or 4t Tray Minimizer, Trayconizer starts applications in the system tray from the moment you run them. To use it, you need to tweak the shortcut you're using to launch the application (right-click shortcut and select Properties) by adding the path to Trayconizer in front of the app like so: C:\Path\To\Trayconizer.exe C:\Windows\Notepad.exe. Trayconizer is freeware, Windows only, requires no install, and consumes a paltry 2MB of RAM.
