  2. RealTemp log file location when RealTemp started as scheduled task

When I start RealTemp manually, the RealTemp log file location seems to default to the folder in which the application is started.

When I started via a scheduled task, to start automatically when my laptop resumes from sleep, no log file appeared to be created.

The support team provided the answer, which is as follows:-

The problem is that when you use the Task Scheduler to start up RealTemp, when RealTemp asks Windows for the RealTemp folder location, Windows replies with a sub folder in C:\Windows. Same Windows function but it gives different answers depending on how RealTemp is started.

If you open up C:\Windows in File Explorer and do a search for RealTempLog.* ; you will find the log file in a subfolder, in my case C:\Windows\SysWOW64. The actual folder may vary with your version of Windows.

Task Schedular won't run a scheduled task.

    An Update

The Saga continues. Just recently I was advised that the current problem might be due to the Task Scheduler being disabled. When working with the scheduler in the past it was found that some of the built in and third party task seemed to be working sporadically.
The most recent task I was constructing, however never worked. After creating a task these would be found to be disabled. The Task Scheduler seems to have no way to indicate the operational status within the scheduler. A check of Administrative tools (via
Services/Task Scheduler and left clicking Task Scheduler) the start button was found to be blacked out. Surprise!

The next step was to open the Group Policy Editor via the command prompt gpedit.msc. Surprise again, Windows reported that this could not be found. It's interesting to note that one of the online expert resources reported that if you can get to the GPE you
must click on disable to enable the Task Scheduler and vice versa. We seem to have a case of don't do what it says but do the counter intuitive and do as I say. A lot of my time has been wasted in pursuing a fix for this problem. I now have to be suspicious
of all the so called knowledgeable sources.

Next was to run the System File Checker for a Windows file defect. The diagnosis came back negative, nothing wrong found.

The next stage seems to be pointing toward locating a download of the Group Policy Editor for Windows 10 if there is one to get.
