Windows 10: Task scheduler restart issue after wake up from hibernation

Hello,I have task schedule one for win11 pc hibernation at 00:01 tested 23:59, too and another schedule to restart pc at 9:00 o'clock. Pc just won't to restart after wake up from hibernation. If I run both schedules with run command or I set different time option within ie 2 hours, everithing works fine. Just schedule overnight won't work. I run exact schedules on another win11 pc and everything works fine. Any idea for solving an issue?

By default, if it's time for your regularly scheduled backup and your computer is off, sleeping, or hibernating, Windows Backup skips the backup and waits for your next scheduled backup. However, if you want to automatically wake the computer
to perform backup, you can use the task scheduler.

To schedule a task to wake the computer before the scheduled backup time follow these steps:

1. Click on Start button and type “Task Scheduler” in the start search box and press enter.

2. Select the “Task Scheduler” from the menu and click on “Actions” and then select “Create task”.

3. Click “Conditions” tab and make sure that “Wake the computer to run this task” is checked.

Task scheduler wakes from sleep/hibernation but PC then goes back to sleep/hibernation

Hi,

I have a HP EliteBook 840 G1 with Windows 10.

I am looking to put my laptop to sleep/hibernation each night at a set time. Then the scheduler will wake the PC at a set time and run a .bat file.

The Windows scheduler wakes the PC fine but after a few minutes it goes back to sleep/hibernation. I would appreciate any suggestions to prevent this.

The laptop is connected to power the whole time and I have disabled auto sleep.

Task Scheduler Problem

Logging into Windows in all cases is not the problem. It's only problematic when I try to log in after the computer wakes from the hibernate mode. Your suggestion of workstation unlock solved the hibernation problem but it killed the restart and account logoff. Those two functions don't let the task run the desired program even after logging into Windows. It was one step forward and two steps back.
