Task Scheduler: struggling to make an instant shutdown task in certain time ranges

I'm trying to make a task that automatically and instantly shut down PC in certain time ranges. But it justs ALWAYS shut down instantly or its annoying shutdown.exe window pops up every minute.Especially Im not sure how to set a time range between multiple days.My current task is like below.Trigger"on a schedule""start: 1/1/2000, 20:00:00""repeat every task: 1 min", "for a duration of: 1 day" "expire: 1/2/2000, 5:00:00"This way I set 3 time ranges: 7:00~12:00, 12:30~16:00, 17:00~5:00Action"shutdown -s -f -t 0"ConditionsAll turned offSettings3 options below are on:"Allow task to be demand""

    :)

Task Scheduler - Shutdown and stay off during certain hours

I understand how to use Task Scheduler in Windows 10 to shutdown the PC at a certain time. I would like to keep the PC off during certain hours (overnight) - to 'encourage' my son to sleep. It seems like Task Scheduler will only shutdown the PC at, say
11:00pm, but can't repeat the shutdown if the PC is simply turned on again at 11:05pm.

Is there a way (script?) to have the PC continually check the real time clock and force a shutdown anytime the OS recognizes that time is within a certain
    range?

I'm pretty rusty at script coding, so examples would be helpful and greatly appreciated!

-> There is no need to write any scripts. Just tell the Task Scheduler when to start the task, how often to repeat it and for how long. And be prepared for your son to outsmart you!

Schedule a shutdown task in Windows 10

    Hi Bill,

To set up shutdown schedule using a Task Scheduler you may follow the below steps and check if it helps:

    1. Start
Task Scheduler. You can start it by going to the Start Menu typing
Schedule in the Search bar and choosing
    Schedule tasks.

    2. When Task Scheduler opens click the
    Create Basic Task.

    3. Enter the
Name for your Task, for example
    Shutdown.

    4. Now choose
When do you want the task to start
. In our case we’ll choose One time.

    5. Now enter the
Time and date when the task will be executed.

    6. Next choose
    Start a program.

    7. Click the
Browse button and go to C:\Windows\System32 and select a file called
    Shutdown. Then click Open.

    8. Now just in
Add arguments field add -s, and then click
    Next.

    9. Now you should see the task information. You can check it one last time, and if you’re pleased with your settings click
    Finish to schedule a shutdown.

Please get back to us with an update on this issue, we will be happy to help.

    Thank you
