    Taskbar auto-hide fail


    Very often or so it happens that the auto-hide feature of taskbar stops working, and that too, happens only partially.


    Which means that the taskbar does not go back in after the cursor is moved away from it nor does the windows get smaller to compensate for the extra space taken up by the taskbar.


    It has lingered for quite sometime and I hoped it would go away with updates but that does not seem to be the case.


    Please please correct it as it tops the most irritating things I have in my life.


    Note: I have checked all the other technicalities I could think of so no, no other window open on the desktop need my attention, no my cursor was not left hovering over the taskbar and it stayed even when all windows were minimized, and when I rebooted the auto-hide feature.

    Did you try the “Auto-hide the taskbar” option from Taskbar properties?



    If you have not tried it, I would suggest you to follow these steps and auto-hide the taskbar:

    • Right click on Taskbar.
    • Click on Properties
    • Check the box Auto-hide the taskbar.
    • Click on OK.

    I understand your concern about auto-hiding Taskbar on Windows 10.

    This issue might have occurred due to Taskbar settings, try the below and check if it helps.

    Steps to enable auto-hide Taskbar:

    • Right click in the empty space on the Taskbar, click on
      Properties      ,
    • Under Taskbar tab, check mark the Auto-hide the Taskbar option, click on
      Apply and Ok.

    I know how to 'auto-hide'!

    IT IS NOT WORKING - the frustrating thing is that this is a known problem and is not being addressed. It may appear to be a small matter but it is not. Wherever the taskbar is situated (top, bottom, either side) it covers part of the screen and is TOTALLY
    annoying!!!!!!!

    PLEASE FIX IT and help us all.
