Taskbar clock - new and unusual behaviour related to RuntimeBroker.exe

After upgrading to build 2004 I noticed that if I teminate all RuntimeBrokers from task manager (I like to keep the number of running processes to a minimum) the task bar's clock will crash when clicked on. Specifically what crashes is ShellExperienceHost.exe, with faulting modules ucrtbase.dll and msvcrt.dll. After that, clicking on clock calls up another instance of RuntimeBroker.exe and all consecutive launches won't crash anymore, unless of course the RuntimeBroker is terminated. If another UWP app is launched after said processes have been terminated, they have no trouble calling up a RuntimeBroker, but even if that particular RuntimeBroker is left to run and taskbar clock is clicked on, it still crashes on the first launch. This implies that they are app specific, as I suspected. If the clock is clicked on after sign-in without interacting with running processes, it launches normally.

It seems as if the clock app has trouble launching a RuntimeBroker.exe if the very one that launches at sign-in is terminated, all other UWP apps that I've tried have no such issue. I've seen this happen at random to other taskbar tray related items (such as notification center and volume bar) with earlier builds, but it's never been replicable.

    :)

    • Type system icons.

    • Under Turn System Icons ON or OFF, turn On the Clock and check with the issue.

    Hope it helps.

You can download the free version from this link

Once installed please make a full scan. You may remove this software once you are done with it.

    And follow these additional steps.

Uninstall an unwanted application in Programs and features,

Go to start type in Control Panel, then go to Programs and then programs and features then go to the list of the programs look for anything unusual or any application that you are not aware right click then uninstall.

Delete Temporary files off Windows 10.

Tap Windows Key then R on your keyboard, on the Run box type in %temp% then press enter.

Once it is up highlight all then delete, if there is a file open that cant be deleted just skip it.
