Taskbar clock won't display long date format

Taskbar clock bottom right was showing long date format, i.e. "dddd, dd. MMMM yyyy." Today it not me decided to switch back to short:I want a simple 24H short time format e.g. 11:46 is just fine, but I want the long date format, i.e. "sreda, 15. septembar 2021.". Something like this photo from the internet:I tried everything in the "Date & Time" settingsAlso in regional settingsI also tried locking and unlocking the taskbar and disabling small taskbar buttons. But, the funny thing is, when I unlock the taskbar and make it larger, it STILL doesn't display the correct date format, be

taskbar clock/date long format in windows 10

ANNOYING - trying to write this post and get answers for Windows 8. Windows 10 is a different beast.

WINDOWS 10 - taskbar clock and date are visible only in SHORT format. There is no option to choose long format that I can find. All searches come up with Windows 8 answers because they are the same for Windows 10 - NOT. Is there a way to change to long format?
Or is this another case of Microsoft knows best?

Long Date Not showing in Taskbar

I was on the Business Model for updates and put them on hold for a week, but changed that to force the current update. Hopefully when the few updates are completed that will fix it for me too. But for me right now, there is no way to get it to display under Windows, no matter what I changed. I don't have "Properties" listed in the context menu, but I do have "Taskbar settings", and from there I could dig to most settings for time/date formats. However the one setting that wasn't anywhere is whether to display the long or short date/time formats. There were options how you preferred each of them, but not a place to select which to show in the system tray.

But in reading this thread I found reference to T-Clock Redux, which you can download here, and that worked perfectly. In fact it's so small and works so well, has so many more options for display and built-in functions, that I just might keep using it instead of the Windows clock.

I'll update this post when Windows is done installing its update if that did indeed fix it for me.

Taskbar clock won't display long date format

    Fix clock display format

the day of the week will be displayed if you make the taskbar slightly larger

right click on taskbar, make sure the 'lock all taskbars' is not ticked. then drag the top of the taskbar upwards.

    to change the date layout

settings -> Time & Language -> Date & Time -> formats, look for the 'change date and time formats' link

also check that your Region & Language settings are correct.

the calendar can be found in the all apps list, right click on it and pin to start, to put the tile back.

    what do you mean by

similar to what the system tray clock calendar does when it "faults".?

what happens when the clock faults?

Taskbar clock won't display date again: Recently I posted a question asking about why the clock at the taskbar won't show the long date format.
