Windows 10: Taskbar covers window not autohide

for an unknown reason the taskbar now covers the bottom of my windows. I do not want to "autohide taskbar". I never had to set this before and I dont want to now.The advice given here previously does not work to stop the process because the instructions are wrong, the processes it suggests do not exist!

chrome + taskbar autohide problem

So i set my taskbar autohide. whenever chrome is in fullscreen, when i hover around the corner, the taskbar wont appear. It works with other browsers....

In rare cases, you may be having an issue with Autohide Taskbar in desktop mode when you when you just recently did an upgrade on your PC. Autohide Taskbar Option might have got unchecked during the process. We would suggest you try the following steps to enable
Autohide taskbar and check if it makes any difference.

a. Right-click on the Taskbar.

b. Click on Properties.

c. Put a check mark next to ‘Auto-hide’ the taskbar.

d. Click on Apply and OK.

I like to autohide taskbar when I work as screen not so large for cad work.

However when I close down pc, next time I restart all the icons on the right, like internet, autovirus, cloud, battery etc all disappear. To see them again I have to go to settings, personalisation, taskbar, and uncheck autohide, recheck the items, and then it comes back. I can then autohide taskbar just for the rest of my session,but have to unhide it again when I close. This never happened with windows 10
