    Taskbar dies after W10 update

Since updating last week without obvious problem I now find that my taskbar dies, as does anything on the desktop, meaning that the mouse pointer moves but nothing works.

This happens when I have come back to the PC after no activity for a while. It comes back up but then I get a perpetual blue circle on the bottom task bar and nothing elsewhere on the desktop.

However task manager loads and shows applications running, like Chrome or mail. I recover by signing out from the task manager and back in. This is manageable but very annoying. I am afraid of making things worse by undoing the update and trying again, based on worse problems I see that others have had.

    :)
