Windows 10: Taskbar hidden on primary monitor but showing on second monitor, despite settings marked...

As title suggests, my taskbar/start menu is hidden on my primary monitor but is showing on my second monitor. I can see it on my primary monitor by maybe a height of a few pixels. I can move the taskbar to the right and left and top and it is visible there but not on the bottom. Please help!

I suggest you to follow the steps below to auto-hide taskbar on second monitor and check if it helps:

Steps:

1. Right click on the taskbar and select
Properties.

2. In the Taskbar tab under
Multiple displays, Uncheck the Show taskbar on all displays box.

3. Click on Apply
and Ok.

This will display the taskbar only on the primary monitor.

Taskbar on second monitor

Hi all,

I've got a Surface 4 Pro and am having an issue where the taskbar is showing on the secondary monitor. My external monitor is designated as the 'main display' and is to the left of the Surface. The desktop is extended onto the external monitor.

It's easy enough to drag the taskbar over but I can't get it to stay.

Thinks I've tried(that didn't work):

• Lock the taskbar.
• Turn off the 'Show taskbar on all displays' option
• 'Auto hide' option has no effect.
• Setting the Surface display as the primary, rebooting, setting the external monitor as primary

Any ideas?

I have this same problem too but the solution you gave appears to not be possible on windows 10. There is no properties for the taskbar when right clicking on it and the only taskbar options are in the newer (and less useful) settings app. There is definitely
no option to only autohide for one screen but you can autohide all or none (neither of which I want). I really hope microsoft fixes this with more options to do this. Why would they remove such a basic feature???
