Windows 10: Taskbar Hover-Over Popups: Hide/Remove or Adjust Visibility Duration

Hello Community,I'm looking to either completely hide the window popup balloons / tooltips, or reduce their visibility duration down from their current ~6 seconds to 1-2 seconds:This used to be possible with earlier versions of Windows, but this has plagued me in both Windows 10 & 11, and is present across all of my devices: my Asus TUF Dash f15, Alienware X15 R2 and my Surface Pro 8 all on Windows 11.My Asus and Surface Pro are Win 11 Home whilst the Alienware is 11 Pro, so only have Group Policy Editor on the Alienware for registry settings, although I couldn't see any options in gpedit

Did you try the “Auto-hide the taskbar” option from Taskbar properties?



If you have not tried it, I would suggest you to follow these steps and auto-hide the taskbar:

• Right click on Taskbar.
• Click on Properties
• Check the box Auto-hide the taskbar.
• Click on OK.

Are you referring to taskbar preview window pop-ups?



If yes, there is no option to disable the taskbar window pop-ups when you hover the mouse, this is by design. However you may Auto-hide taskbar by following the below steps and check if it helps.

• 
  Right click on the taskbar and select properties.
  
• 
  In the Taskbar tab, Place a tick mark for Auto-hide the taskbar.
