    Hello,As stated in the subject, the taskbar icon for the Settings app is blank. I have done some steps like deleting iconcache.db and restarting the laptop, but that does not solve my problem. Currently, I am running a command in Command prompt which is called sfc /scannow. This laptop was broken for a couple of months and now it's repaired and running well, but the settings icon is missing from the taskbar. I am currently installing Feature update to Windows 10, version 20H2. Here's a screenshot to help describe my problem.

    Windows APPS ICON NOT SHOWING PROPERLY on taskbar


    It's been couple of days since I upgraded my system to Windows 10 from Windows 7. Everything is working fine except this nasty error. If I pin apps to taskbar or run apps , the app icons on the taskbar are shown as white square. And I am seeing the same thing on Apps & Feature settings list. The icons are there but as the backgrounds are shown as grey-white chequered pattern (for the transparency ), it looks like white squares. Rebuilt the icon cache but to no avail.

    Windows 10 Settings Icon is Blank on Taskbar when Running and Taskbar is Set to Small Icons

    I have my taskbar set to small icons.

    If I open "Settings" the app opens and a tile is started in the taskbar but the icon does not show on the tile. It is just blank.

    If I change the taskbar to large icons then the settings icon shows but I have too many icons to run Windows in large icon mode.

    I have tried to delete the icon cache and reboot but the problem remains.

    UWP apps: Blank icons in start menu

    All of my UWP app icons are blank/empty/missing in the start menu search only. They appear correct in the start menu list itself, in settings. Some are missing in the taskbar as well, some are not.

    I am using sagethumbs for some file extensions, but I disabled it and the issue persisted (after restarting Windows Explorer). I cleared the icon cache, still no luck.

    Anyone know a fix for this?

    I am using Windows 10 (1803 - Build 17134.112)
