Windows 10: Taskbar icon issues

Hi. With Win10 I've noticed that left-clicking the volume icon at bottom right no longer works. Neither does the network icon. These icons worked right after install, but now randomly appear to just stop working. Other icons (program icons, for eg) next to them DO work, and right-click works, just not left-click. I can adjust the volume with the slider on the keyboard but not the mouse any more. I also have issues with the keyboard randomly stopping working, but this sometimes happened with Win7 and could be because it's old

This is just one of a bunch of issues Win7 never had and Win10 does have. I'm thinking this is why they released it free *Wink

The clock seems fine, with large taskbar icons. When using small taskbar icons, the issue occurs.

 

How do I customize the taskbar in Winddows 10

This issue might occur if unwanted icons is getting displayed on the taskbar.

I suggest you to follow the steps below to customize the taskbar and also try to unpin the unwanted icons from the taskbar.

Step 1: Try customizing which icons which will be displayed on the task bar and check if it helps.

1. Click on Start Menu.

2. Click on Settings.

3. Then select System.

4. Click on Notifications and actions.

5. Then click on Select which icons appear on the taskbar. Also click on
Turn System icons on or off.

6. Try to turn off unwanted icons on the taskbar.

Step 2: I recommend you to unpin unwanted shortcut icons which is created on the taskbar.

1. Right click on unwanted icons on the taskbar other than System icons such as network icon and sound icons.

2. Then click on Unpin from taskbar.
