    Taskbar icons temporarily freeze - have to use ctrl-alt-del to fix


    Hi, it seems to me that many people are experiencing the exact same problem as me but im not seeing a real solutions around. Every now and then the taskbar just freezes and its not until i press CTRL ALT DEL, then ESC that things start responding again. I have tried all the usual suggestions of clean boot, DISM in command etc. This is definitely a Windows update problem which has started happening in the past 2 months.

    i saw that someone had this problem here Taskbar icons temporarily freeze - have to use ctrl-alt-del to fix

    and i have same problem. I reinstalled Windows 2 days ago and problem is back.

    When pc is idle icons freezes i need to use ctrl-alt-del to fix it.

    The whole Ctrl+Shift+Esc should be used to get that crazy screen with those options and Ctrl+Alt+Del should bring up TM.

    On a domain you won't get Task Manager when you hit Ctrl+Alt+Del. You get a crazy screen with a bunch of options.

    Ctrl+Shift+Esc has always brought up just the Task Manager, even back to Windows XP days. You just weren't aware of it. *Wink Taskbar icons temporarily freeze - have to use ctrl-alt-del to fix ;)

    Go ahead, try it in Windows XP too.
