Windows 10: Taskbar is bugged

Edition: Windows 11 ProVersion: 24H2OS Build: 26100.3194Experience: Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.26100.48.0So my computer just BSoD and then restarted, after that my taskbar stopped working properly. Taskbar problems:- When clicking a pinned program, it just starts a new instance instead of going to that program.- When I have opened programs I.E. Browser, Steam, it doesn't have a light underneath them.- Right clicking and refreshing the desktop brings an opened program up.Things I've tried:- restarting the Windows File Explorer or something like that and it still doesn't work.- SFC S

Windows taskbar Bug?

We’d like to get more information regarding this issue.

1. Were you able to play the games without the Taskbar interfering earlier?
   
2. Were there any updates that were installed recently that you think might have caused the issue?
   

We appreciate that you tried few steps to fix the issue. We can try few more steps in order to isolate the cause of the issue.

Let us go ahead and disable the Taskbar auto hide feature and check if the issue persists.

1. Right click on empty space of Taskbar.
   
2. Select Taskbar settings.
   
3. Turn off the switch under Automatically hide the taskbar in desktop mode.
   
4. Try playing the game in Full Screen mode and check if the Taskbar interferes with the game play.

System Icons on taskbar

Hi,

Thank you for posting on Microsoft Communities.

Are you referring to the clock system icon on the taskbar?

If so, I suggest you to follow the steps mentioned below:

• 
  Click on the search bar on the taskbar.
  
• 
  Type system icons.
  
• 
  Under Turn System Icons ON or OFF, turn On the Clock and check with the issue.

Did you try the “Auto-hide the taskbar” option from Taskbar properties?



If you have not tried it, I would suggest you to follow these steps and auto-hide the taskbar:

• Right click on Taskbar.
• Click on Properties
• Check the box Auto-hide the taskbar.
• Click on OK.
