  1. Taskbar lagging all the time


    Taskbar lags all the time. It freezes the menus or icons that are pinned on it. No matter what I did it will freeze. I need to restart the computer to make it work again. After couple of minutes it will freeze again. Not only that, the start menu is not functioning all the time and it will stuck it my screen 2 to 3 times per hour. Need to fix this immediately.

    Random lag spikes

    Hi,

    We would like to know more about your lag issue:

    • What browser are you using when you experience a lag?
    • Does the lag occur in a particular game?

    In the meantime, we suggest you run the System Maintenance troubleshooter. Here are the steps:

    • Press Windows Key + X.
    • Click on Control Panel.
    • Select Troubleshooting.
    • On the left pane, click on View All.
    • Click on System Maintenance to run the troubleshooter.

    System Icons on taskbar

    Hi,

    Thank you for posting on Microsoft Communities.

    Are you referring to the clock system icon on the taskbar?

    If so, I suggest you to follow the steps mentioned below:


    • Click on the search bar on the taskbar.

    • Type system icons.

    • Under Turn System Icons ON or OFF, turn On the Clock and check with the issue.

    Hi Shawn,

    I suggest you to check the taskbar auto-hide settings is set correctly or not as below.

    • Right click on the ‘Taskbar’ and click on ‘Properties’.
    • Under ‘Taskbar’ tab. Check the option ‘Auto-hide the taskbar’.
    • Then click on ‘Apply’ and ‘Ok’.

    If still the issue persists then, I suggest you to follow the below methods and check if it helps.

    Method 1: I suggest you to run the System Maintenance troubleshooter as below.

    • Type troubleshooting in the search bar.
    • Select Troubleshooting.
    • Select View all on the top left corner.
    • Click on System Maintenance.
    • Follow the on-screen instructions to run the troubleshooter.

    Method 2: I suggest you to follow the steps from the below article and check if it helps.
